Our Projects
Sun & Storm Systems installs hurricane protection, solar protection, and flood barriers for homes across Southwest Florida. This section is organized by location and by product so homeowners can find the kind of work that matches their opening.
Each finished project page is reserved for an actual Sun & Storm installation. A published project page shows the opening measurements, the system that was selected, the engineering considerations, how the installation and permits were handled, and the finished result. Photos on those pages are Sun & Storm installation photos, used only with the homeowner’s permission. Complicated jobs are included on purpose, because recessed tracks, stucco conflicts, attachment substrates, wind pressures, oversized openings, and job-site coordination are part of the work.
Verified project pages are added after Sun & Storm confirms the job details and approves the page. Until then, use the product pages below to compare systems and request a free on-site measurement.
Projects by location
Sun & Storm Systems is based in Sarasota and Fort Myers and serves homeowners across Manatee, Sarasota, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties. A project page names the city or county only when that job is a confirmed Sun & Storm installation.
- Sarasota and nearby: Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, North Port, Englewood, Lakewood Ranch, Siesta Key, Longboat Key, and Anna Maria Island. Call Sarasota at (941) 900-8924 or use the Sarasota contact page.
- Fort Myers and nearby: Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, and Bonita Springs. Call Fort Myers at (239) 722-4009 or use the Fort Myers contact page.
- Tampa Bay: Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, including Tampa and Clearwater. Call the office that covers the county before the visit is scheduled.
Projects by product
Choose the product that matches the opening. These links go to the current product pages. They are not records of a specific job.
Hurricane screens
- Progressive MagnaTrack hurricane screens for large openings such as lanais and patios. A future project example is a MagnaTrack lanai installation in Sarasota, once the opening measurements and job record are confirmed.
- Fortress hurricane screens for screened openings that need a hurricane-rated screen system. A screen is not the same product as a shutter, and a rating applies only within the tested size, design pressure, and anchoring for that opening.
Hurricane shutters and panels
- Rolling shutter systems for motorized or manual roll-down protection.
- Accordion shutters for side-folding protection on windows and doors.
- Bahama storm shutters for top-hinged protection with shade. A decorative Bahama style is not storm-rated unless that product and opening are approved for it.
- Colonial storm shutters for side-hinged protection, including arched openings when the product approval allows it.
- Lexan hurricane panels for clear removable panel protection.
Solar protection and flood barriers
- Solar screens for heat, glare, and insect protection on a lanai or covered patio. These are not hurricane screens.
- Decorative shutter systems for curb appeal. Decorative Bahama and Colonial styles are not storm protection unless the quoted product is approved for that opening.
- Flood barrier panels for doors, garages, sliders, and low openings. A barrier is measured for the specific opening. It is not a universal waterproof seal.
What a verified project page includes
Before a project page is published, Sun & Storm confirms each of these from the actual job:
- The city or county, the product, and a plain description of the opening, such as a lanai, window, door, or storefront.
- The actual opening measurements.
- The hurricane screen, shutter, panel, or barrier system that was selected, and why it fit the client’s requirements.
- Engineering considerations for that opening, including design pressure, attachment substrate, and any recessed track or stucco condition that affected the install.
- How permits were handled, without stating a permit timeline that was not recorded for that job.
- The installation method and the finished result.
- Sun & Storm installation photos, and written permission from the customer to publish them. Stock photos and generated images are not used as project photos.
License CBC1264026. Florida Building Code approval applies only when the product is engineered and installed within the product approval’s tested sizes, design pressures, and anchoring requirements. A free on-site measurement is the way to confirm which system fits a specific opening.
